Oklahoma State’s fifth-ranked equestrian team defeated Tennessee-Martin, 16-4, on Saturday at Tennessee-Martin. “I’m very proud of the way we rode yesterday and today,” coach Larry Sanchez said. “This was a great start to our spring and the girls are looking forward to our competition next weekend.” OSU’s hunter seat squad defeated UTM, 6-3, with a 3-1 victory in equitation on the flat and a 3-2 victory in equitation over fences. The western team improved to 7-1 on the season after defeating the Skyhawks, 10-0, with a 5-0 victory in both horsemanship and reining. OSU sophomore Leighona Bernstein received Most Outstanding Player in equitation on the flat with a high score of 84. OSU junior Sam Harrison received Most Outstanding Player in equitation over fences with a high score of 84 OSU sophomore Katy Krshka received Most Outstanding Player in Horsemanship with a high score of 76.5. OSU senior Taylor New received Most Outstanding Player in Reining with a score of 73. Oklahoma State will be back in action when they host Texas A&M next Saturday at the Animal Science Arena.
