IRVING, Texas - Oklahoma State senior Andrea Riley was named the Big 12 Women's Basketball Player of the Week by a media voting panel for season-opening games this past week it was announced today by the league office.
Riley was chosen after averaging 25.5 points, 6.0 rebounds 5.5 assists and 2.0 steals in OSU's two preseason WNIT wins over the weekend.
In the Cowgirls' season opener against UALR, Riley scored 27 points to go with six rebounds, four assists and two steals. Riley followed on Sunday against No. 19 Georgia Tech with 24 points, six rebounds, seven assists and two steals.
The Dallas, Texas native's point total against the Yellow Jackets moved her into a tie for eighth place on the Big 12's all-time scoring list with Texas A&M's Takia Starks at 1,977 points.
The recognition marked the eighth time Riley has received a Big 12 weekly award.
