STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's Liz Donohoe was named a second-team Full Court Freshman All-American after a stellar rookie campaign for the WNIT champion Cowgirls.
The honor capped a freshman season that saw Donohoe earn Big 12 Freshman of the Year honors after finishing the year as the league's top freshman scorer (13.1 ppg) and rebounder (7.8 rpg). The Edmond, Okla., native was named the league's freshman of the week five times.
Among league players, she finished 13th overall in scoring and seventh in rebounding. Additionally, she finished second in free-throw percentage and seventh in 3-pointer field goals per game.
Donohoe was one of five players named to the U.S. Basketball Writers Association's watch list for the 2011-12 Women's National Freshman of the Year award.
While helping OSU capture the WNIT Title, Donohoe logged double-doubles in the squad's final five games, giving her eight on the year. She was one of two Cowgirls named to the event's all-tournament team as well.
