Cowgirls Ready For Round One Of Bedlam
After having the midweek off, Oklahoma State’s women’s basketball team (13-5, 1-4) returns to action on Saturday at noon when it hosts in-state rival Oklahoma (15-4, 5-1) in the first installment of The Bedlam Series. In their last outing, the Cowgirls fell, 63-56, at Texas, while the 13th-ranked Sooners head up I-35 looking to bounce back from an 80-78 loss against Texas A&M on Wednesday in Norman.
OSU—Oklahoma... The Series
After sweeping all three games last year, the Sooners now hold a 51-35 advantage against the Cowgirls. Oklahoma has won six in a row since OSU logged its last victory, an 82-63 win on Jan. 12, 2008 inside Gallagher-Iba Arena. OU has won 20 of the 37 meetings in Stillwater. In their trip to Stillwater last year, the Sooners picked up a 77-66 win.
Oklahoma saw its five-game winning streak come to an end with Wednesday night’s 80-78 loss to Texas A&M. Three of OU’s losses this year have come on the road with the Sooners falling at Ohio State, Arkansas and TCU. OU is the best free-throw shooting team in the league at 76.5 percent and also leads the league with its 8.2 3-pointers per game. Danielle Robinson ranks third in the Big 12 in scoring (19.2 ppg), fourth in assists (5.3 apg) and second in steals at 3.1 per contest. Aaryn Ellenberg is tops in the league in free-throw percentage (90.2%).
