IRVING, Texas - Oklahoma State's Andrea Riley was named the Big 12 Player of the Week by a media voting panel for games from Jan. 4-10. The distinction is Riley's third this season and the 10th of her career.
In OSU's two wins last week, Riley averaged 34.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 8.5 assists and 2.5 steals. The Dallas, Texas native logged her third double-double of the season with 26 points and 11 assists in 30 minutes of action against Sam Houston State. Her point total against the Bearkats moved her past Kansas State's Nicole Ohlde and into fourth place on the Big 12's all-time scoring list.
The 5-5 senior guard recorded her third career 40-point game with 43 points versus No. 5 Baylor. Riley committed just one turnover and had six assists against the Lady Bears in 40 minutes. She made six 3-pointers in the contest to tie the school's single-game record as well as her personal best. Riley's assists total against Baylor moved her past the 600-assist mark for her career and into eighth on the league's career chart.
Riley and the 15th-ranked Cowgirls will be back in action Tuesday at 11 a.m. when they take on Kansas in Lawrence. The contest will be televised by ESPNU.
