For the second consecutive game, Oklahoma State senior Andrea Riley wrote her name in the record books, scoring 28 points in Tuesday night’s 90-65 win over Oral Roberts to become the school’s all-time leading scorer.
For the Cowgirls (9-2), the win was their fifth in a row, while the Golden Eagles (7-5) dropped their third-straight contest.

After tying the Big 12 single-game record with 17 assists in the squad’s last outing, Riley entered Tuesday’s matchup four points shy of catching Clinette Jordan’s school-record total of 2,168 career points. The Dallas, Texas native drilled a long 3-pointer less than a minute into the game to pull within a point of the mark. With 13:56 remaining in the contest, Riley knocked down a pair of free throws to move past Jordan and draw a standing ovation from the crowd of 2,936 inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.

“I didn’t really think about it until today,” Riley said. “Before shoot around I was talking on the radio about it, so I couldn’t help but think about it. It feels great and it’s a great accomplishment, but I’d just like to focus on winning.”

Riley and senior Tegan Cunningham combined for 24 points in the first half to help OSU build a 41-32 lead during at the break.

ORU’s Jaci Bigham knocked down six of her 10 3-pointers in the first half to keep the Golden Eagles close.
Riley took over the game in the second half, scoring 15 of her 28 in the second period. She also added seven assists after the break to finish with 11 on the night for her second-straight double-double. In addition to her 28-point, 11-assist outing, Riley had six steals and five rebounds.

With her point total, Riley also moved past Oklahoma’s Phylesha Whaley for fifth place on the Big 12’s all-time scoring list and now stands at 2,192 career points.

Cunningham also finished with a double-double, adding 15 points and 12 rebounds. Juniors Lakyn Garrison and Precious Robinson also reached double figures, finishing with 12 and 14 points, respectively.

Bigham led ORU with 28 points, while Jordan Pyle recorded a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds.

The Cowgirls will be back in action on Dec. 28 when they host Western Illinois at 7 p.m. in Stillwater.
