· Chosen as a second-team ESPN The Magazine Academic all-district squad member
· Was named to the Academic All-Big 12 first team

· Father was an all-conference offensive tackle at the University of Oklahoma in 1981 where he lettered from 1979-81. He was also taken in the ninth round of the 1982 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs
