STILLWATER, Okla. - The Oklahoma State cross country program will compete at the NCAA Midwest Regional on Saturday in Dekalb, Ill. The Midwest Regional is hosted by Northern Illinois and will be run at the NIU North 40 Course. The men's 10,000-meter race is set to begin at noon, while the women's 6,000-meter race is slated for 1:15 p.m. The second-ranked men's team has taken the team title in all four events it has run this season, including a fourth-consecutive Big 12 championship in its most recent event. At the Midwest Regional last year, the Cowboys cruised to a second-place finish in a successful effort to save energy for their second-consecutive NCAA championship. Seniors German Fernandez and Colby Lowe; sophomores Tom Farrell and Shadrack Kipchirchir; redshirt freshmen Kevin Colón, Kirubel Erassa and David Osborn; and freshman Fabian Clarkson are entered to run, with seven runners set to compete in the event. The No. 23 Cowgirls have won two team titles this season and took third place at the Big 12 Championships two weeks ago. Last season, they finished second at the Midwest Regional as well. Seniors Victoria Fratczak and Teran Mixon; junior Jackie Campos; sophomores Caileigh Glenn, Kate Kujawa, Natanya Luther and Natalja Piliusina; and freshman Monika Juodeskaite are entered to race, with seven competing in the event.
