2009-10 (Redshirt Year): Suited up for one event on the year, winning one of his three bouts at the Roger Denker Open ... Pinned Indianapolis's Nick Smith in 2:31 in the consolation round of that event ... Sat out most of the redshirt schedule due to injury. High School: Attended Deer Creek HS in Edmond, Okla., where he was coached by Andy Howington ... One of only two two-time state champions in Deer Creek history ... Won the class 4A 152-pound title in 2008 and the class 5A 160-pound title in 2009 ... A large west all-state honoree his senior year ... All-Edmond wrestler of the year in 2008 by the Edmond Sun ... Third-place finisher at the state meet as a sophomore ... Also played football, racking up eight sacks for the Antlers his senior year.
