FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The Oklahoma State men's and women's track and field teams finished up the first day of competition at the Razorback Invitational, hosted by the University of Arkansas, Friday night.
The Cowboys only competed in three events Friday, with Cody Kenny posting OSU's best finish by placing 14th in the long jump with a distance of 6.49m/ 21-03.50.
For the Cowgirls, Chase Ealey (15.42m / 50-07.25) finished in eighth place in the shot put, while Jordan Highsmith participated in the women's pentathlon, earning a total of 3,233 points and a 10th place finish. She finished in ninth place in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 9.35, 12th place in the high jump (1.47m/ 4-09.75), eighth in the shot put (9.32m/ 30-07), fifth in the long jump with a distance of 5.33m/ 17-06 and in the 800 meters she finished in eighth place with a time of 2:31.73.
"Tomorrow we have Natalja [Piliusina] in the 800, which has a high level of competition in the field," said OSU head coach Dave Smith. "We also have the guys in the mile, but I'm really excited to see what Tom [Farrell] can do. There is a high quality field tomorrow, and we have some athletes who are ready to run hard."
