NORMAN, Okla. – The Oklahoma State track and field program competed in its second indoor meet of 2011 Saturday as several members of the men’s and women’s teams competed at the J.D. Martin Invitational at Oklahoma’s Mosier Indoor Facility.
The women’s team was represented in eight events, including the 200 meters, 400 meters, 600 yards and one mile, as well as the long jump, triple jump, shot put and weight throw.
Clarissa Andrews had the best finish of the day, placing second in the triple jump with a mark of 12.20 meters. The next best finishes were Jessica Murphy in the triple jump (fourth place at 10.64 meters) and Mihaela Bobos in the 600-yard run (fifth place at 1:26.41).
Three athletes from the men’s squad competed, as Tyler Payton placed fifth in the 400 meters with a time of 51.03, Raul Botezan finished second in the 1,000 meters with a time of 2:26.20 and Taylor Buck placed seventh in the high jump at 1.85 meters.
The Oklahoma State track and field program is scheduled to return to action next week at the Razorback Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark.
