STILLWATER, Okla. -
Oklahoma State’s men’s tennis team added to its strong 2013-14 recruiting class on Sunday with the signing of Arjun Kadhe, head coach Jay Udwadia announced.
Kadhe, a 19-year-old freshman from Pune, India, will be the fifth incoming member of the 2014 Cowboy Tennis squad after the previous signings of Sebastian Sachs, Lucas Gerch, Nathan Roper and Nicolai Ferrigno.
“I’m extremely happy that Arjun will be joining the Cowboy Tennis family, and I look forward to working with him,” Udwadia said. “His personality and serious work ethic will make a great impact on this team.
Over the past year, Kadhe made appearances in each of the four Grand Slams at the junior level in a run that included a doubles quarterfinals berth at the French Open. He has consistently held a No. 1 ranking in each of India’s junior age groups, and is a two-time national champion in doubles.
Kadhe’s campaign as captain of India’s junior Davis Cup squad earned him a career-high ATP world ranking of 1,105 in singles, and his impressive play in ITF competition gave him a No. 34 world junior ranking in 2013.
The incoming freshman will join the Cowboys in 2014 in time for the team’s season opener against Southern Illinois on Jan. 17, a match that will also mark the debut of the Greenwood Tennis Center.
