STILLWATER, Okla. –Oklahoma State men’s tennis standouts Oleksandr Nedovyesov and Aleksey Bessonov travel to New Haven, Conn., this week to compete in the ITA National Indoor Championships, hosted by Yale University at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center.
The event will take place from November 5-8 and feature the top collegiate tennis players in the country.
Nedovyesov, who garnered the No. 1 ranking in the ITA preseason singles poll, will compete in singles play as the No. 2 seed. He will also compete as the second seed in the doubles bracket with Bessonov.
The 2009 ITA National Indoor Championships marks the second consecutive year for Nedovyesov to compete in the event, as he fell in the quarterfinal round of singles play at the 2008 championships. It is Bessonov’s first time to compete in the event.
The singles field is made up of 32 of the top players in the country, while the doubles bracket includes 16 of the best teams in collegiate tennis.
The event is scheduled to begin Thursday morning with the first round of doubles play followed by the first round of singles play.
