STILLWATER - Oklahoma State's men's and women's tennis teams both maintained top-30 spots in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association team rankings released on Tuesday. The Cowgirls jumped two spots to No. 21 in the women's rankings while the Cowboys fell to No. 29 in the men's rankings.
Last weekend, the Cowgirls (13-6, 7-1 Big 12) split Big 12 matches against Baylor and Texas. On the men's side, the Cowboys (20-5, 1-3 Big 12) fell to two ranked opponents in No. 37 Texas Tech and No. 6 Baylor.
Cowboys Arjun Kadhe and Jakob Sude dropped five spots to No. 26 in the ITA doubles rankings this week after splitting matches in the No. 1 spot last weekend. The Cowboy duo defeated Texas Tech's Dojas and Soares, 8-6, on Friday before falling to Pradella and Zsiga of Baylor on Sunday. The Nos. 2 and 3 Cowboy tandems were also taken down, ending the Pokes' 11-match doubles point winning streak.
The lone ranked Cowgirl tandem of Kanyapat Narattana and Viktoriya Lushkova found itself down four spots in the rankings this week despite winning both of its matches last weekend. Lushkova and Narattana come in at No. 53 in the latest rankings.
Lushkova and Sude both made a jump in the ITA singles rankings this week. Lushkova catapulted 26 spots up the poll to No. 52 this week after notching two ranked wins over 51st-ranked Kiah Generette of Baylor and No. 117 Elizabeth Begley of Texas. Sude rose 11 spots to No. 75 in the men's singles rankings.
Both teams will compete in Bedlam action this weekend, as the Cowboys host the 2nd-ranked Sooners, while the Cowgirls travel to face 18th-ranked Oklahoma in Norman, Okla.
