TULSA, Okla. – Oklahoma State’s Oleksandr Nedovyesov and Aleksey Bessonov won their third doubles match of theD'Novo/ITA All-American Tennis Championships Saturday, knocking off Kentucky’s Eric Quigley and Brad Cox, 8-6, in the main draw doubles quarterfinals.
The Cowboys reached the quarterfinal match after beating Virginia Tech’s Patrick Daciek and Yoann Re, Virginia Tech, 8-3, in Thursday’s opening round and upsetting the No. 1-seeded Georgia duo of Jamie Hunt and Nate Schnugg, 8-6, in the second round Friday.
It was the second time of the D'Novo/ITA All-American Tennis Championships that Nedovyesov has faced Quigley. Quigley upset top-ranked Nedovyesov in the first round of the main draw singles bracket, but this time, Nedovyesov came out on top.
The Cowboys now advance to face Stanford’s Bradley Klahn and Ryan Thacher in the semifinals Sunday, with the winner moving on to the final match Sunday.
