
Jan. 20, 2012 STILLWATER, Okla. - The Oklahoma State men's tennis team got its season started off on the right foot when it defeated Missouri-Kansas City at the Case Tennis Center in Tulsa on Friday. The Cowboys (1-0) began their 5-2 victory against UMKC (0-1) by taking two of three doubles matches to open the dual. The No. 56 pairing of senior Vlad Bondarenko and sophomore Rifat Biktyakov picked up an 8-5 victory at No. 1 doubles. OSU picked up four singles victories on the day, led by No. 60 Bondarenko, who defeated Nino Hasandedic in the No. 1 spot. Freshman Christopher Haworth, ranked No. 77, earned his first dual victory as a Cowboy, defeating Abdulrahman Alawadhi, 6-1, 6-0. Freshman Adolfo Aires also picked up his first dual win at OSU, posting a score of 6-4, 6-4, in the No. 6 spot. Senior Eric West beat Tomas Patiño at the No. 3 spot, 6-3, 6-0.
