SAN MARTIN, Calif. - Oklahoma State's men's golf team wrapped up its fall slate on Wednesday at the Gifford Collegiate Championship at CordeValle with a second-place finish.

The Cowboys posted a 354 score during their third round at CordeValle Resort to finish at 21-under 1,059 and three shots off the pace of Stanford. The Cardinal fired a 352 on Wednesday to come in at 1,056.

OSU's Peter Uihlein pulled away from the field after carding his third-straight round in the 60s to take medalist honors. The sophomore's 69 gave him a 14-under total of 202 and was five shots better than Stanford's Sihwan Kim. The win was Uihlein's second of the season and third of his career.

The Orlando, Fla., native made the turn at 1-over after alternating three bogeys and two birdies on holes 5-9. For the third consecutive day, Uihlein scorched the back nine, playing it in 4-under 32 to finish at 3-under par for the day. For the week, he played the inward nine 14-under par with 13 birdies and one eagle.

Sophomore Morgan Hoffmann also broke 70 with a 69 of his own to move into a tie for third place at 208.

Junior Kevin Tway joined his sophomore teammates in the top 10, tying for eighth place at 211 after signing for a 69.

Senior Trent Whitekiller tied for 28th at even-par 216 after posting a 73 during his third round.

Junior Mark Johnson and redshirt freshman Sean Einhaus tied for 65th place at 225 after rounds of 75 and 74, respectively.

Redshirt freshman Drew Page wrapped up his first collegiate tournament with a 79 to tie for 72nd place at 226.

 

 

The Cowboys will be back in action on Feb. 3 when they begin play at the UH Hilo Intercollegiate in Hilo, Hawaii.
