IRVING, Texas - Oklahoma State's Ian Davis has been named October's Big 12 Golfer of the Month it was announced today by the league office. The announcement comes on the heels of the Cowboy junior's first career victory at the Royal Oaks Intercollegiate. It is the first time he has received the Big 12 honor. Davis made his first start of the season at the Jack Nicklaus Invitational, earning his first career top 10. The Edmond, Okla., native finished tied for sixth place after posting a 5-over 149 total that included rounds of 71 and 78. His victory at the Royal Oaks Intercollegiate made him the first Cowboy medalist since the 2011 NCAA Colorado Regional. He opened with a career-best 66 and followed with a 69 before closing with a 71. The win also helped OSU to its first team title since that same NCAA Regional.
