SAN FRANCISCO - Former Oklahoma State standout Hunter Mahan won his Sunday singles match at the Presidents Cup to help the United States defeat the International Team, 19.5-14.5, at Harding Park Golf Course. Mahan defeated Camilo Villegas by a 2-and-1 count on Sunday to run his record in the event to 2-1-1. Villegas jumped on Mahan early with wins on the first two holes. However, Mahan answered with wins at the fifth, seventh and eighth to take a lead he would not surrender. The two players halved the next eight holes before Mahan closed out the match by winning the 17th. Mahan was paired with Sean O'Hair during Thursday's foursome matches. The duo lost, 2 and 1, to Adam Scott and Ernie Els. Paired with Zach Johnson on Friday in four-ball action, Mahan rebounded with a 2-and-1 win over Robert Allenby and Villegas. Mahan and Steward Cink halved their foursome match on Saturday against Allenby and Vijay Singh before Mahan closed the event with his win on Saturday.
