Cowboys Move Into Third Place After Day Two in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS - Oklahoma State's golf team fired a team score of 286 to jump into a third-place tie with North Carolina State after the second round of play at the Las Vegas Intercollegiate on Saturday.

The Cowboys two-day total of 586, 10-over-par, is 15 shots behind leader Georgia Tech with 18 holes to play.

Individually, OSU's Anders Hultman carded a 73 on Saturday and is even par after 36 holes. The junior will start play tomorrow in a tie for seventh and eight strokes behind the tournament's leader, Arizona State's Jeff Quinney.

Freshman Matt McQuillan rebounded from a first-round 78 to shoot a four-under 68 on Saturday to move into a tie for 17th place.

Boyd Summerhays is in a tie for 31st after shooting a 76 to give him a two-day total of 150, tying him with teammate J.C. DeLeon, who turned in a one-under score of 71 on Saturday.

Freshman P?r Nilsson is one stroke behind the Cowboy duo and in a tie for 38th place after shooting a 74 in the second round.

The Cowboys will conclude tournament play tomorrow at the Desert Inn Country Club.
