ALPHARETTA, Ga. - Oklahoma State's men's golf team closed with a 298 during its third round at the U.S. Collegiate Championship to tie for ninth place at The Golf Club of Georgia. The Cowboys began the day in third place, but slipped into a tie with Auburn after posting their 10-over score. The two squads finished at 22-over 886 and just six strokes out of the fourth spot. Georgia Tech finished one shot ahead of UCLA to win the event with an 874 total. Stanford's Patrick Rodgers rallied with a 67 during his third round to claim medalist honors with a 7-under total of 209. OSU junior Talor Gooch entered the day as the individual leader before posting a 74 to finish in a tie for second place with Auburn's Michael Johnson. The duo finished at 3-under 213. Junior Ian Davis carded a 73 to finish tied for 28th place at 222, while freshman Jordan Niebrugge's second 76 in a row gave him a 225 total and tied him for 46th place. Sophomore Tanner Kesterson signed for a 75 to finish at 228 and tied for 60th. Senior Sean Einhaus tied for 69th place after his 78 gave him a 235 total. The Cowboys will wrap up their fall slate beginning Oct. 29 at the Royal Oaks Invitational in Dallas.
