ALPHARETTA, Ga. - Oklahoma State's men's golf team carded a 295 during its second round at the U.S. Collegiate Championship on Saturday to come in tied for third place at The Golf Club of Georgia. The Cowboys' 7-over total put them at 12-over 588 and tied with Southern California through two rounds. UCLA fired a 5-under 283 to finish the day two shots clear of the field with a 580 score at the par-72, 7,017-yard layout. OSU junior Talor Gooch maintained his hold on the top spot in the individual race after carding a 71 to stand at 5-under 139. The Midwest City, Okla., native will take a two-shot lead into tomorrow's final round. Junior Ian Davis posted a 72 to move into a tie for 29th at 149. Also among the group at 149 was freshman Jordan Niebrugge, who carded a 76 during his second round. Sophomore Tanner Kesterson's 78 gave him a 153 total and tied hi for 56th place, while senior Sean Einhaus stands at 157 and tied for 69th place after signing for a 76. The Cowboys will close out the event beginning tomorrow at 9 a.m. (EST). OSU will be grouped with Iowa and Texas A&M during its final round.
