ALPHARETTA, Ga. - Oklahoma State's men's golf team opened play on Friday with a 293 score to stand alone in fourth place at the U.S. Collegiate Championship at The Golf Club of Georgia. The Cowboys' 5-over tally put them two shots behind Wake Forest and Georgia Tech for second place at the par-72, 7,017-yard layout. Southern California posted a 289 score to lead by two heading into tomorrow's second round. OSU junior Talor Gooch fired a 4-under 68 to grab the individual lead. He finished a stroke ahead of a pair of players after putting together a round that featured four birdies and an eagle. Freshman Jordan Niebrugge finished the day tied for 19th place after carding a 73, while sophomore Tanner Kesterson came in tied for 34th place with a 75. Junior Ian Davis' 77 tied him for 52nd place. Senior Sean Einhaus carded an 81 to stand in a tie for 71st. The Cowboys will get their second round underway tomorrow at 9 a.m. (EST) and will be grouped with Duke and Auburn.
