OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. - Oklahoma State's men's golf team closed with a 16-over 296 during the third round at the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational to finish in eighth place at Olympia Fields Country Club. The Cowboys' 54-hole total of 876, 36-over par, put them one shot behind Northwestern and Auburn for sixth place and three shots out of the fourth-place spot held by Duke and Stanford. Arkansas finished at 854 to post a three-shot victory at the par-70, 7,080-yard layout. Stanford's Patrick Rodgers closed with a 67 to move from a tie for third into sole possession of first with a 207 total. With his 3-under total, he finished as the only player in the field under par and five shots clear of the field. Freshman Wyndham Clark closed out his first-ever collegiate start with the low round of the event by a Cowboy, firing a 2-under 68 to move into a tie for 17th place at 217. Fellow freshman Jordan Niebrugge posted a 76 to finish at 220 and tied for 25th place. Senior Sean Einhaus' closing 75 put him in a tie for 30th place at 220, while sophomore Patrick Winther signed for a 77 to come in a stroke back at 223 and tied for 32nd place. Sophomore Tanner Kesterson posted a 79 to finish at 226 and tied for 43rd place. The Cowboys will be back in action on Oct. 8 when they travel to Columbus, Ohio for the Jack Nicklaus Invitational.
