BRYAN, Texas - Oklahoma State's men's golf team wrapped up the first day of the Aggie Invitational on Saturday in fifth place at Traditions Golf Club.
The Cowboys posted a 36-hole total of 769 that included rounds of 393 and 376. OSU's 49-over tally put them six shots behind Texas. Oregon leads tournament host Texas A&M by seven shots with a 752 total at the par-72, 7,146-yard layout. A pair of teams were unable to complete their second round and will resume play at 7:30 a.m. with the third round scheduled to begin at 8 a.m.
Oregon's Daniel Miernicki was the lone player under par after day one, finishing at 1-under 143 to lead by a stroke over a pair of players.
Cowboy freshman Tanner Kesterson followed an opening 77 with a 71 to stand at 148 and tied for sixth place.
Junior Sean Einhaus had back-to-back 81s to finish tied for 53rd place at 162.
Competing individually, sophomore Ian Davis finished the day tied for 26th place at 155 after posting an 80 and a 75.
