WAIKOLOA, Hawaii - Oklahoma State's men's golf team posted a 280 during its second round at the Amer Ari Invitational on Thursday to move into a tie for sixth place at Waikoloa Kings' Course. The Cowboys began the day in 10th place, but used their 8-under score to move into a tie for sixth place with TCU at 568. Washington moved to the top of the leaderboard after posting a 275 for a 36-hole total of 555. A pair of players shared the individual lead with Texas' Cody Gribble and UCLA's Pontus Widegren standing at 7-under 137. OSU's Jordan Niebrugge posted a 69 to move into a tie for 16th place at 141. The freshman tallied a 3-under 33 on his outward nine that included four birdies. Niebrugge's back nine consisted of nine-straight pars to get to his 3-under score. Junior Talor Gooch carded his second consecutive 71 to come in tied for 23rd place at 142, while classmate Ian Davis' second 72 in a row tied him for 41st place at 144. Junior Sam Lee finished the day tied for 45th place at 145 after signing for a 72. Junior Kevin Dougherty rebounded from an opening 79 with a 68 to move into a tie for 65th place at 147. The Cowboys will begin their final round tomorrow at 7:30 a.m. (HST) and will be grouped with Georgia Tech, TCU and Auburn at the par-72, 7,074-yard layout.
