WAIKOLOA, Hawaii - Oklahoma State's men's golf team carded an even-par 288 during the first round of play at the Amer Ari Invitational on Wednesday to stand in 10th place at Waikoloa Kings' Course. The Cowboys finished the day a shot behind Oregon and Stanford for eighth place at the par-72, 7074-yard layout. TCU and UCLA shared the lead after the first round, firing matching 11-under 277 scores. TCU's Daniel Jennevret fired a 5-under 67 to lead the individual race by a single shot over eight players. Junior Talor Gooch led the OSU starting five with an opening 71 to stand in a tie for 23rd place. Junior Ian Davis and freshman Jordan Niebrugge each posted 72s to come in a tied for 39th place. Junior Sam Lee carded a 73 to stand in a tie for 51st place, while junior Kevin Dougherty's 79 tied him for 108th. The Cowboys will be back in action tomorrow at 7:30 a.m. (HST) and will be grouped with Oregon, Texas Tech and Colorado.
