Cowboy Gameday: #10 Oklahoma State vs. #14 Oklahoma
The Final Whistle
The Oklahoma State Cowboys (10-1/6-1) close the 2010 regular season Saturday night when they host the Oklahoma Sooners in a Bedlam battle at Boone Pickens Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. with ABC on hand to televise the game. OSU will be playing in the ABC prime time window for the second time in three weeks as OSU's road win at Texas was also a Saturday nighter on ABC.

TV Time
The Cowboys will be making their 10th television appearance of the season when they host the Sooners. The next appearance, either in the Big 12 championship game or in a bowl, will tie the school record of 11 TV appearances set last season.

Setting The Scene
Oklahoma State, 10-1 for the first time in school history, heads into the OU game having assured itself of a share of its first Big 12 South championship. However, nothing is guaranteed in regards to an appearance in the conference championship game next week. An OSU win makes things easy as the Cowboys would advance. An OSU loss, depending upon the outcome of the Texas-Texas A&M game, could result in a three-way tie between the Cowboys, Sooners and Aggies. OSU enters the regular-season finale as the Big 12's only one-loss team.

Divisional Tiebreakers
The following procedure will determine the representative from each division in the event of a tie:

  • If two teams are tied, the winner of the game between the two tied teams shall be the representative.
  • If three or more teams are tied, steps 1 through 7 will be followed until a determination is made. If only two teams remain tied after any step, the winner of the game between the two tied teams shall be the representative.
  1. The records of the three teams will be compared against each other.
  2. The records of the three teams will be compared within their division.
  3. The records of the three teams will be compared against the next highest placed teams in their division in order of finish (4, 5 and 6).
  4. The records of the three teams will be compared against all common conference opponents.
  5. The highest ranked team in the first Bowl Championship Series poll following the completion of Big 12 regular season conference play shall be the representative in the Big 12 Championship Game, unless two of the tied teams are ranked within one spot of the other in the BCS poll. In this case, the head-to-head results of the top two ranked tied teams shall determine the representative in the Big 12 Championship Game.
  6. The team with the best overall winning percentage (excluding exempted games) shall be the representative.
  7. The representative will be chosen by draw.

Crowded Campus
This week will not feature your typical deserted college campus over the Thanksgiving holiday. ESPN's College GameDay will be in town for Bedlam and on Friday night OSU hosts Notre Dame in women's soccer with a trip to the NCAA Women's College Cup (soccer's version of the Final Four) on the line.

The Semi-Perfect 10
Oklahoma State rolls into the regular-season finale with a 10-1 record. It is the first 10-win season for OSU since 1988, and the just the fourth in school history (1984, 1987, 1988). However, 2010 marks the first time that OSU has reached 10 wins during the regular season.

For the second time in three years, ESPN's popular College Football GameDay show will generate from the Library Lawn on the Oklahoma State campus, it was announced today. The program was in Stillwater for the 2008 matchup with Oklahoma as well.

Hosted by Chris Fowler, Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard and Erin Andrews, the show airs live beginning at 8 a.m. Central Time on ESPNU, then ESPN and ESPNU both air it live from 9-11 a.m. Central Time.

The Cowboys have been featured on College Gameday four times, with all four of those matchups coming against Oklahoma. The 2003 Bedlam game in Norman marked OSU's first-ever feature appearance on the show. The program originated from Stillwater for the 2004, 2008 and now 2010 editions of the Bedlam Series.

Saturday's Bedlam matchup is one of the biggest in memory, as the Cowboys (10-1 overall; 6-1 Big 12) are looking to lock up the Big 12 South championship with a win over the Sooners (9-2 overall; 5-2 Big 12).

Orange Fans Only
The place to get your football fix this fall is Boone Pickens Stadium where the Cowboys feature an exciting non-conference schedule, including match-ups with Washington State, Troy, and in-state rival Tulsa. The home conference slate kicks off in a nationally-televised Thursday night showdown with Texas A&M on September 30. Nebraska comes to Orange Country on October 23 during America's biggest Homecoming celebration. The home schedule concludes with the Baylor Bears visiting Boone Pickens Stadium on November 6, and the Bedlam Series rivalry renewing on November 27.

But Gameday isn't just about football. It's a celebration of Cowboy sports and Orange Pride. Boone Pickens Stadium, with the Wild West Zone open to fans, represents the beginning of a new era for OSU athletics.

Gameday
Cowboy football isn't just a game. It's an event. This season the football experience has spilled out onto the concourse. Join other cowboy fans in the Hall of Fame Block Party on the north side of the stadium for carnival concessions, Nike tent, inflatable games, and GoVision. John Holcomb and Dave Hunziker will broadcast the Cowboy pre-game show live across from the US Cellular Autograph Tent. In addition, the south side of Boone Pickens Stadium will feature a tent city full of vendors offering “made in Oklahoma” merchandise.

The Western-themed Express Personnel Club Level at Boone Pickens Stadium offers a pre-game buffet, wider seats with increased leg room and cupholders, and a climate-controlled indoor lounge with flat-screen TVs. The Club Level is home to some of our most dedicated supporters of OSU Athletics and is a tremendous way to enjoy Cowboy Football in an upscale atmosphere. For more information, including a private tour or seat availability, please contact Matt Grantham via email at mgrantham@osugiving.com or by phone at 405-744-5938 or 877-OSU-ATHL between 8am and 5pm (CST) Monday through Friday.

The Walk
Two hours and fifteen minutes before game time, the Cowboys will emerge from the Atherton Hotel and make the walk down Hester Street to Boone Pickens Stadium. They'll be led by Coach Gundy and the OSU Marching Band. This is your first chance of the day to help fire up the team. Consider it reporting for duty.

Due to the current construction at the OSU Student Union, there will be a slight change to The Walk's route. The Cowboy Football team will now exit on the south side of the Student Union, through the doors north of the courtyard between the Journalism building and OSU Alumni Center.

POSSE Parking
POSSE parking lots will open 6 hours prior to evening games and 4 hours prior to morning or early afternoon games. There will be no access to Knoblock Street between Hall of Fame Avenue & McElroy Street on game days. There will be NO grilling, cooking or charcoaling allowed in or on top of the Silver Star parking garage due to fire and safety regulations, please plan accordingly.

General Parking
All game day fans looking for FREE parking, park downtown Stillwater. Shop at the local merchants, enjoy less traffic and then step onto an air conditioned shuttle bus at 7th Street & Lewis. The Shuttle will service approximately every 15 minutes before the game starting three hours prior to kickoff and will service every 30 minutes after the game depending on traffic.

Cowboy fans can now PARK FREE IN DOWNTOWN STILLWATER and enjoy gameday shopping and dining before catching a courtesy shuttle to Boone Pickens Stadium. Shuttle service begins 3 hours prior to kickoff and continues throughout post-game, with pick-up/drop-off approx. every 15 minutes.

Traffic Flow
I-35 Northbound traffic please consider taking OK-33 east to 177 north into Stillwater. This will greatly alleviate some traffic issues in Stillwater. For additional travel routes, visit the Getting to Stillwater page.

Live Orange
Cowboy athletes feed off the noise and emotion OSU fans provide - that's why it's called "home field advantage." The Cowboys need your support as they take on their Big 12 rivals and make a run at their fifth-consecutive bowl game. Arrive early, wear orange, make some noise!

Live Sports Radio
The radio will work at all the home and away games of your Home Team. Each season a new radio will be available as the FCC-licensed frequencies that are used for the broadcast will change depending upon the team's schedule. The LSR will continue to work as an FM scan radio on an ongoing basis; however, the “event” radio mode will only work for the current season.
