STILLWATER, Okla. - After rushing for 257 yards - 208 in the first half - to fuel Oklahoma State's 65-17 win over Washington State, senior running back Kendall Hunter was recognized as the Big 12 Co-Offensive Player of the Week today. He shared the honor with Kansas State's Daniel Thomas. Hunter's 257 yards on 21 attempts against the Cougars was good for an average of 12.2 per rush. His rushing total is the best in the country through the first weekend of play. Hunter became the first Cowboy since Barry Sanders in 1988 to run for 200 yards in a half. He added four rushing touchdowns, which is second only to Sanders for a single-game at OSU. The senior had six runs of at least 17 yards, including a touchdown run of 39 yards and a 66-yard run to the 1-yard-line. The 2008 first-team All-American was recognized earlier in the week as the national player of the week by SI.com and was also singled out by the College Football Performance Awards as the Running Back Performer of the Week. Hunter and the Cowboys host Troy this Saturday.
