STILLWATER, Okla. - The Oklahoma State athletic department announced today that Kevin Blaske will take over the role of head athletic trainer for the Cowboy football team. Blaske spent the last 10 seasons at the University of Miami, Fla., where he oversaw the athletic training efforts for the Hurricane football and women's golf teams. Blaske received a B.S. in biology from Missouri Southern in 1990 and a M.S. in sports management from Tulsa in 1992. He went on to work as an athletic trainer for the FSL Texas Rangers (1992), Freeman Sports Medicine (1992-94), Pittsburgh Piranhas of the CBA (1995), Frontier Baseball League (1994-97) and Lindsey Wilson College (1997-2000) before moving to Miami. "I'm excited to go back toward home at Oklahoma State," Blaske said. "It is an exceptional program that has shown great improvement over the last 10 years. This is a tremendous opportunity." Blaske starts his new position the first week in June. "We're thrilled to have Kevin join our staff," Oklahoma State director of athletic training John Stemm said. "He has ties to the area and has tremendous experience. It's a great fit."
