Game Notes vs SMU in PDF format SMU's Game Notes in PDF format Stillwater, Okla. — Oklahoma State's Cowboy Basketball team returns to the hardwood Wednesday night as the Cowboys travel to Dallas, Texas, to face the SMU Mustangs inside the American Airlines Center. Tipoff is slated for 5:30 pm and the game will be televised on ESPNU. OSU is 6-5 this season and looking to end a three-game losing skid. All three losses have come on neutral courts. The Cowboys are led by freshman Le'Bryan Nash, a Dallas, Texas, native who is averaging 13.1 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. He will be playing just five miles away from Dallas Lincoln, where he attended high school. Senior Keiton Page is also averaging double figures, chipping in 11.7 points per contest. SMU is 7-4 overall this season and has won five of its last six games. The Mustangs are led by senior forward Robert Nyakundi who is averaging 16.7 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. OSU is 19-6 all-time against SMU, including a current nine-game winning streak in the series. The two teams last played in December of 2005, with the Cowboys taking a 64-54 victory. Oklahoma State is 3-1 all-time inside the AAC, having lost to Missouri in the first round of the 2003 Big 12 Championship and winning three games en route to the conference tournament title in 2004.
Dowell Leaves Cowboys Stillwater, Okla. — Oklahoma State junior Reger Dowell is no longer a member of the Cowboy Basketball team, head coach Travis Ford announced today. "We appreciate what Reger has done for us over the past two seasons," Ford said. "We wish him nothing but the best and wish him well in his future endeavors." Dowell had played in 11 games this season and was averaging 5.5 points and 1.7 assists per contest. He scored a season-high 11 points in an overtime win against UTSA. Dowell, who has not redshirted, has played in 53 total games in his Cowboy career. He had a career average of 3.9 points per game and recorded 50 assists in 53 games. |
