Stillwater, Okla. -- Stephen Clark, the highest-ranked recruit in the state of Oklahoma, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball at Oklahoma State, it was announced Friday afternoon by head coach Travis Ford.

"Stevie is not only one of the best high school players to ever play in the state of Oklahoma, but he is also an excellent student," Ford said. "He's one of the top guards in the country. He gets a lot of publicity for how he can score the basketball, but he is also a great passer and a great ball handler. He's a winner. His team has won three state championships, and are looking forward to trying to win a fourth."

Clark, a 5-11 point guard at Douglass High School in Oklahoma City, was named the 2012 Super Five Player of the Year by The Oklahoman as a junior. He averaged 25 points and 11 assists per game in leading the Trojans to a 24-3 record and a third-straight Class 4A state championship. He was also named the Class 4A state tournament Most Valuable player after scoring 40 points in a semifinal win over Cascia Hall and a 40-point outburst against Anadarko in the title game.

As a sophomore, Clark averaged 15.7 ppg and 3.4 steals per contest as the Trojans went 24-5. As a freshman, Clark averaged 14.6 points per game and connected on 81 three pointers en route to a perfect 29-0 record for OKC Douglass. He was named the Class 4A state tournament MVP that year as well.

"Stevie loves the game of basketball, and it shows in how he plays," said Ford. "He's going to fit perfectly into our system and how we play. I look forward to coaching Stevie every day, and feel like we've got one of the top players in the country joining our basketball family."

Clark, rated a four-star recruit by multiple recruiting services, is ranked as the No. 62 player in the country according to ESPN.com, and is a consensus top-100 player nationally. He chose Oklahoma State over a host of offers, including Baylor, Florida State, Missouri, UCLA, Marquette and Oklahoma.

Clark is joined in the 2013-14 recruiting class by wing Jeffrey Carroll, forward/center Gary Gaskins, forward Leyton Hammonds and combo guard Detrick Mostella.
