Oklahoma State head coach Travis Ford and three players ran through the gauntlet at the annual Big 12 Media Day at the Sprint Center in Kansas City this morning. Coach Ford, along with preseason Big 12 Player of the Year Marcus Smart, preseason All-Big 12 member Markel Brown, and All-Big 12 honorable mention Michael Cobbins handled the media with ease.
The day began at 8 am with SiriusXM Radio, and was followed by stops with several television entitities, including ESPNU, Big 12 This Week, the Big 12 Digital Network, the Longhorn Network and Fox Sports 1. The Cowboy coach and players also met individually with several national media members, including ESPN.com's Myron Medcalf, Holly Rowe and Fran Fraschilla from ESPN, as well as former Cowboy Bryndon Manzer, who works for the Big 12 Network.
Coach Ford addressed the media in a press conference setting, followed by a 1-on-1 session for both he and the Cowboy players. The day wrapped up at approximately 1:30 pm, with Brown, Cobbins and Smart as the last remaining players answering questions.
Oklahoma State opens the 2013-14 season unofficially on Sunday as the Cowboys host Campbellsville (Ky) in an exhibition game starting at 2 pm. The game will be televised by the Cowboy Sports Network, and broadcast Fox Sports Oklahoma as well as Fox College Sports Pacific.
