James Anderson, a junior on the Oklahoma State Cowboy Basketball team, has been named to the preseason All-Big 12 team in a vote of the league coaches, it was announced today by the Big 12 Conference office.

Anderson was the Cowboys’ leading scorer a year ago and is the third-leading scorer returning in the Big 12 Conference after averaging 18.2 points per contest last season. He was an All-Big 12 Second Team selection as a sophomore and an honorable mention choice as a freshman.

Anderson joins Kansas’ Cole Aldrich and Sherron Collins, Craig Brackins of Iowa State, Texas’ Damion James and Willie Warren of Oklahoma on the squad. A tie in the voting created six spots on the preseason squad. Brackins and Collins were unanimous selections to the team.

Aldrich and Collins were also named the preseason co-Players of the Year, while Avery Bradley of Texas, an honorable mention selection on the All-Big 12 Team, was named the preseason Freshman of the Year. Iowa State’s Marquis Gilstrap received preseason Newcomer of the Year honors.
