Oklahoma State's Cowboy Basketball team has been ranked No. 21 in the Blue Ribbon College Basketball Yearbook preseason top-25 poll, it was announced last week. OSU is one of four Big 12 schools mentioned by the popular magazine.

Kansas is the preseason favorite, followed by Final Four participant Michigan State, the Big 12's Texas, Villanova of the Big East, and last year's national champion North Carolina. Purdue, Kentucky, California, Duke and Tennessee, OSU's opponent in the first round of last year's NCAA Tournament, round out the top 10.

Oklahoma State returns three starters from a second-round appearance in the NCAA Tournament that finished with a 23-12 record. The Cowboys welcome seven newcomers, including six freshmen.

OSU will open practice on Friday, Oct. 16.
