Belgrade, Serbia - James Anderson scored a team-high 14 points as one of seven Americans to reach double figures as the USA defeated South Korea 113-76 in the preliminary round of the World University Games here Saturday night.

Anderson was 7-of-11 from the floor and tied Quincy Pondexter for team scoring honors. Anderson also had five rebounds, two assists and three steals in 20 minutes of playing time.

The USA took a 26-11 lead after the first quarter and held a 56-26 halftime lead.

The Americans shot 61.1 percent from the floor while limiting South Korea to just 37.2 percent. The USA squad also outrebounded the Koreans 62-21.

The USA advances to the second round, where it will face Greece (1-1), which finished second in Group A, on July 6 (1:00 p.m. CDT), and Group A first-place finisher Serbia (2-0) on July 7 (1:00 p.m. CDT). Finland (1-1) also advanced to Group I second round action.
