Belgrade, Serbia - Oklahoma State's James Anderson scored seven points, including a key three pointer at the end of the first quarter, as Team USA defeated Finland 87-40 during the prelminary rounds of the World University Games. The USA squad took a 21-12 lead after the first period and held Finland to just seven points in the second quarter for a 39-19 halftime lead. After scoring 19 points in the third period, Finland was held to just two points in the final quarter by a stifling US defense. Anderson was 2-of-3 from the floor, including 1-of-2 from beyond the three-point arc, and also hit two free throws for the Americans. He scored seven points in just nine minutes of court time while also grabbing three rebounds and dishing out two assists. Team USA will play South Korea on Saturday at 1 p.m. CT before the second round of competition begins on July 6.
