USA Finishes Exhibitions with 2-1 Mark

Belgrade, Serbia -

Team USA finished a round-robin exhibition tournament with a 2-1 mark this weekend as the squad prepares for the World University Games which begin on Thursday. Team USA defeated Canada 85-81 on Saturday before falling to Serbia 98-82 on Sunday. The Americans defeated Russia Monday evening 67-63.

Cowboy junior James Anderson has come off the bench in all three games, scoring two points in seven minutes against the Canadians. He scored eight points on 3-of-6 shooting from the floor in 12 minutes against Serbia, but was held scoreless in four minutes against the Russians.

The United States is set to open World University Games play on July 3 against Finland (1 p.m. CDT) and faces South Korea on July 4 (1 p.m.). Second round action is scheduled for July 6-7, quarterfinals will be played July 9 and medal semifinals are slated for July 10. The gold medal will be contested on July 11 (2 p.m. CDT).
