The 2009 Las Vegas Invitational highlights the 2009-10 Oklahoma State men's basketball non-conference schedule, released today by head coach Travis Ford. The Cowboys open the 2009-10 regular season on Saturday, November 14, as OSU hosts Seattle as part of the Las Vegas Invitational. Game time for that contest will be announced once the kickoff for the OSU vs. Texas Tech football game is determined. Oklahoma State will travel to Las Vegas, Nev., to play Bradley and either Utah or Illinois at the Orleans Arena during Thanksgiving weekend. Ticket packages for the tournament can be purchased through International Tours of Stillwater (405-372-1647) or directly through the Orleans Arena box office (702-284-7777 or www.orleansarena.com). The Cowboys will play their first game inside the Tulsa city limits since 2003 when they face the Tulsa Golden Hurricane at the Reynolds Center on Dec. 2. The Pokes will play at Stanford on Dec. 16 as part of the Big 12/Pac-10 Hardwood Series with the Cardinal making a return trip to Stillwater next season. Oklahoma State will once again participate in the All-College Basketball Classic, sponsored by the Oklahoma City All-Sports Association, in the Ford Center on Dec. 21. The opponent has not yet been determined. The Cowboys make a return trip to New England on Jan. 2 and will play the Rhode Island Rams at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. Oklahoma State will host a total of 16 games during the 2009-10 season, including eight non-league contests. The Cowboys will face first-time opponents Seattle, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Pacific and Coppin State inside Gallagher-Iba Arena. "This schedule is an extremely well-balanced schedule," Ford said. "We play in the Las Vegas Invitational, which will be very challenging early. It also includes some tough road games -- at Stanford, Tulsa and Rhode Island -- that will be challenging to a team that is relatively very young."
