Four Cowboys Graduate from OSU

May 13, 2014

STILLWATER — Four Cowboy Basketball players received their diplomas this past weekend during graduation ceremonies in the same arena where they spent most of the time as college students — Gallagher-Iba Arena. Markel Brown, Michael Cobbins, Mason Cox and Brian Williams all earned their degrees in various programs and walked across the stage on Saturday.

Brown received his degree in university studies with an emphasis in sociology and educational psychology and graduated in four years, despite entering Oklahoma State University as an "at-risk" student. He not only earned his degree, but was named a recipient of the 2013 Academic Momentum Award, presented annually by the National Consortium for Academics and Sports (NCAS).

Cobbins also graduated in four years and received his degree in university studies with an emphasis in entrepreneurship. A redshirt junior on the Cowboy Basketball team last season, he still has one year of eligibility and will go to graduate school next year as he plays his final season.

Cox, a walk-on who gained valuable experience on the court last season as a fifth-year senior, received his degree in mechanical engineering and will begin his career at ExxonMobil in Houston this summer. Williams, a fourth-year junior, received his degree in university studies with an emphasis in recreational management.
