Forte went first in the finals, and hit four of the five balls in the final rack of the championship round, including the multi-colored "money ball", worth two points. It ended up being the deciding factor, as he defeated Creighton signee Isaiah Zierden, who scored 17 points in the finals, but missed his last shot and lost by one point.
