Stillwater, Okla. -- Thanks to the generosity of two Oklahoma State donors who wish to remain anonymous, the number of free tickets available to OSU students for Saturday's WNIT Championship game has been increased to 600!!!
The donors contacted the ticket office upon hearing the announcement that head men's basketball coach Travis Ford and his wife, Heather, had purchased 400 student tickets for the Cowgirls' WNIT championship game Saturday afternoon against James Madison.
"The Cowgirls are playing great basketball right now," Cowboy head coach Travis Ford said. "They need and deserve all the support they can get while trying to win the WNIT championship. Anything Heather and I can do to help them achieve this goal, we're willing to do. I just hope we can get as many students as possible at the game to cheer on the Cowgirls to victory."
Current OSU students with a valid student ID can come to the table stationed on the north end of Gallagher-Iba Arena starting at noon on Saturday and pick up a single ticket until the full allotment has been claimed. Additional student tickets will be available for purchase at the Gallagher-Iba Arena ticket office for $5. Tipoff for Saturday's game is set for 2 pm.
"Our coaching staff and team are very appreciative of the continued support from Coach Ford and Heather," said Cowgirl head coach Jim Littell. "They have been and continue to be very gracious to our program."
