Stillwater, Okla. — Phil Forte, an Oklahoma State signee, has been chosen to compete in the second-annual National High School 3-Point Championships, taking place during Final Four festivities this weekend in New Orleans, La., it was announced today by Intersport.
Forte, a senior at Flower Mound Marcus High School in Texas, will be one of eight players competing in the men's 3-point contest. This is the same competition that Cowboy freshman Cezar Guerrero won last summer.
Forte was named the Most Valuable Player of the Class 5A state tournament in Texas, leading his team to a second-consecutive Class 5A state title. He scored a game-high 24 points in leading the Marauders to a 39-2 record.
The American Family Insurance High School Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships will take place at the Alario Center in New Orleans on Friday, March 30, at 7 pm. The event will be televised on a tape-delayed basis on Sunday, April 1, at 3:30 pm on CBS.
