Cowboys Move up in Both Polls

Feb. 12, 2013

Stillwater, Okla. — Oklahoma State's Cowboy Basketball team moved up to No. 17 in the Associated Press poll and No. 16 in the USA Today Coaches poll following a pair of victories last week.

The eight-spot jump from No. 24 to 16 in the Coaches poll marks the largest jump for OSU in that ranking since at least the 2002-03 season, the furthest back the weekly rankings are available on-line. It's also the highest ranking the Cowboys have achieved in the Coaches poll since Jan. 29, 2007, when OSU was ranked 14th.

Oklahoma State's highest ranking in either poll this season was 15th in the AP poll on Nov. 26.

The Cowboys (17-5, 7-3 Big 12) travel to Lubbock, Texas, on Wednesday to face the Texas Tech Red Raiders (9-10, 2-8) at 6 pm in a game televised by ESPNU.
