It was a close vote by the media in attendance, but Smart won the tournament MVP trophy over teammate Nash. Both were named to the All-Tournament team.

Phil Forte had 17 points for the Cowboys, including 4-of-8 from three-point range. Fellow freshman Kamari Murphy had 10 rebounds as OSU outrebounded the Wolfpack, 45-34.

Rodney Purvis had 16 points and T.J. Warren added 15 points for the Wolfpack (3-1), who shot only 28.6 percent from the field.

Smart had a pair of 3-pointers early, part of an 8-2 run in the first half that gave the Cowboys a 13-9 lead. He also finished with seven rebounds, seven assists, four steals and four blocked shots as he filled the stat sheet. He finished with 18 points in the first half as the Cowboys led 38-28 at the break.

Oklahoma State, now 4-0 on the season, won its fifth in-season tournament since winning the 1991 Preseason NIT. OSU's 20-point win is the largest margin of victory in the championship game of the PRTO in its sixth year of existence.

The Cowboys will take off a week before returning to action on Sunday, Nov. 25, when OSU hosts Portland State inside Gallagher-Iba Arena in a game that tips off at 1 pm.
