• played 32 games for coach Josh Newman at Arkansas-Fort Smith, averaging 6.6 points and 4.7 rebounds per game.
• shot 55.7 percent from the floor, connecting on 83-of-149 shot attempts.
• made 46-of-75 (61.3 percent) shots from the free-throw line.
• was also recruited by Baylor, Kansas State, Indiana, Saint Louis and UAB out of junior college.
High School
• lettered four years for coach Jeff Heath at Madison Central High School.
•named second-team all-state, first-team all-metro and first-team all-county. He was also a member of the Dandy Dozen and was a McDonald's All-American nominee.
• averaged 14.1 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.5 blocks per game his senior season.
• recorded nine double-doubles during his final year, including a 24-point, 20-rebound performance against Lanier on Nov. 6, 2006.
• averaged nearly 18 points and eight rebounds per game as a junior, leading Madison Central to the Class 5A state title.
• played in the Mississippi High School All-Star game for the North squad.
• was recruited by a host of schools, including Alabama, Mississippi and UTEP.
Personal
Born August 18, 1989, Malcoln is the son of Carla and Malcoln Kirkland, Sr. He has a younger sister, Alexia. Malcoln enjoys playing video games and sports in his free time. He is contemplating a degree in sports management from Oklahoma State.
