LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Senior designated hitter Jake Bollig's two-out double in the third inning plated Oklahoma State's first two runs sparking the Cowboys scoring onslaught in a 13-0 blanking of Loyola Marymount Friday afternoon at Page Stadium.

Senior pitchers Nick McCurdy and Justin Meccage combined to pitch a six-hit shutout, the first of the season for the Pokes. McCurdy moved to 1-0 on the season after limiting the Lions to three hits in five innings of work. Meccage came in and finished the game with four innings of scoreless relief.

Bollig's clutch two-out double in the third inning scored catcher Matt Oakes and centerfielder Jeff Salazar, giving the Cowboys a 2-0 lead. Leftfielder Jose Virgil then knocked in Bollig to give OSU a 3-0 which proved to be all the team needed for the win.

Oklahoma State added four runs off of five hits in the fourth to break the game open and scored five more runs in the seventh and another in the ninth to close out the scoring.

Shortstop Rob Watson hit the only homer of the game, a two-run shot in the seventh, over LMU's 20-foot leftfield wall nicknamed "The Blue Monster". Rightfielder Daylon Monette also had a good day at the plate with two doubles and two runs scored.

Watson, Bollig, Virgil, Monette and first baseman Ali Modami all had multiple hit games as the Pokes pounded out a total of 15 base knocks in the contest

The Cowboys moved to 3-0 with the win while the Lions fell to 2-4-1. OSU will be back in action Saturday at 3 p.m. CT against Cal Poly at Page Stadium.
