2016-17: Went 6-2 overall in his final season as a Cowboy … Four of his six wins came with bonus points, including three falls and a major decision … Went 5-0 at the Reno Tournament of Champions to take top honors at 174, dropping Boise State’s Austin Dewey in the finals … Also competed at the Southern Scuffle and Outlaw Open … Was named to the Big 12 All-Academic team.
2015-16: Went 12-6 overall and finished 0-3 in duals, competing primarily at 184 pounds … All three of his dual starts were against ranked opponents … Two of his dual appearances were wrestled at 197 pounds … Wrestled six ranked opponents … Picked up eight falls as well as one major decision … Fastest fall came in 24 seconds over Raul Hernandez of OU … Won the OCU Open, defeating teammate Nolan Boyd, 8-3, in the finals … Also defeated Boyd in the finals of the Oklahoma Open, 11-7 … Finished sixth at the Southern Scuffle, falling to Boyd, 12-2, in the fifth-place match.
2014-15: Compiled a 15-9 overall record and a 3-3 dual record, competing at 174 pounds … Earned the team nine dual points … Faced six ranked opponents, including five ranked in the top 10 … Tied with brother, Chandler, for second most falls on the team (7) … Each of his falls came in the first period … Defeated opponents from Northeastern Oklahoma, South Dakota State and West Virginia in dual competition … Finished second at the Joe Parisi Open … Produced fourth-place and eighth-place finishes at the Reno Tournament of Champions and Southern Scuffle, respectively.
2013-14: Compiled a 18-11 record and 3-4 dual record ... Wrestled primarily at 184 pounds ... First dual win came in the form of a fall in 1:11 over Nick Bayer from Northern Colorado ... Defeated multiple ranked opponents, including No. 10 John Eblen of Missouri, No. 12 T.J. Dudley of Nebraska and No. 20 Alex Utley of North Carolina ... Won 14 matches with bonus points, including 11 falls and three major decisions ... Finished second at the UCM Open.
2012-13 (Redshirt Year): Went 10-4 in his first year as a Poke, wrestling exclusively at open tournaments … Eight of his wins came by fall and another came by major decision … All but two of his falls came in the first period, with his fastest coming in 47 seconds … Finished second at the Oklahoma Open and third at the UCM Open … Also competed at the Lindenwood Open.
High School: Attended Mead HS in Spokane, Wash., where he was coached by Phil McLean … No. 1-ranked wrestler nationally in his weight class by several outlets during his senior year … Compiled a 144-8 career record … Finished his high school career with individual state titles in 2009, 2011 and 2012 … Received the Dan Hodge Award, the Wade Schalles Award and the Dave Schultz regional award in 2012 after compiling a perfect 42-0 record and pinning all 42 of his opponents … During the 2010-11 season, he won the ASICS National Championship in Greco and Freestyle at 171 pounds and was also a double champion at the FILA Cadet Nationals in Ohio, where he was named Outstanding Wrestler ... Represented the United States at the FILA Cadet World Championships in Hungary in August … Received All-America honors at the Fargo ASICS Championships for his third-place finish in Greco and second-place finish in Freestyle … Earned silver at the 2010 Youth Olympic Games in Singapore and won the FILA Cadet Freestyle Pan American championship, the Cadet Freestyle and Greco National championship and the FILA Cadet Freestyle National championship … Placed second in Freestyle and fourth in Greco at Cadet Nationals in 2009 … Two-time academic state champion … Member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Associated Student Body.
