Washington totaled 96 yards and a score on two grabs. The Cowboys
had 201 yards of offense in the quarter to USA's 9 yards and led 17-0.
:: OSU held South Alabama scoreless in the first half. It marked the
second time in the last three games the Cowboys have shut out an
opponent in the first half, as they also shutout Colorado in the first half
of last season's Alamo Bowl. It was the third time in the last five
games OSU has shutout an opponent in a half, also shutting out TCU in
the second half last year.
:: Matt Ammendola matched a career-long with a 53-yard field goal in
the second quarter.
:: Justin Phillips scored on a 25-yard interception return to give OSU
