Young Adds Transfer Marina Guinart

STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State women's tennis team has added transfer Marina Guinart, head coach Chris Young announced Tuesday.
As a junior, the Spanish native will be eligible for the 2017-18 season.
"We are thrilled to add Marina to our roster for this fall," Young said. "She continues a tradition of excellent Spanish players who have joined the Cowgirl family. Marina has excelled the past two years at East Tennessee State but I believe her best tennis is ahead of her and she will make an immediate impact on our program this fall."
Guinart racked up an impressive 36-1 dual singles record during her two years at ETSU, following a 2017 campaign in which she went 17-1 competing in the top two spots for the Buccaneers. Her and teammate Ioanna Markesini teamed up to go 14-4 on the season in the No. 1 doubles position to follow up a 17-3 season in doubles as a freshman.
"I chose to come to Oklahoma State because I think it is the best place to improve my tennis, and to become a better tennis player and a better person," Guinart said.
Guinart's performances last season helped the Buccaneers to a second place finish in the Southern Conference, and a run to the finals of the conference championship. As a freshman in 2016, she was named to the All-Southern Conference Freshman Team and All-Southern Conference Second Team, leading ETSU to a 20-3 overall record and the program's fifth all-time NCAA Tournament appearance.
